Have you ever been confused in the produce section to either buy organic produce or non-organic produce?  Well, as consumers I think that we need to choose carefully.  Organic produce can be much more expensive than Non-Organic produce and there are certain vegetables and fruits that are essential to buy organic.  I would like to introduce the “Dirty Dozen” list of essential organics.  The Fruits and vegetables that are on this list have a Lower chance of containing higher levels of pesticides and should be consumed when available in Organic.

  1. Apples
  2. Celery
  3. Strawberries
  4. Peaches
  5. Nectarines
  6. Grapes
  7. Bell Peppers
  8. Potatoes
  9. Cherries
  10. Lettuce
  11. Kale
  12. Collard Greens

Safer Fruits and Vegetables that "if you had to choose don’t" have to be Organic would be:

  4. Avocado
  5. Asparagus
  6. Sweet peas
  7. Mango
  8. Eggplant
